Product Review: Fabric Shaver by Home-It

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Fabric Shaver by Home-It is motor driven, it comes with a power cord. It contains a 2.5 inch shaving surface, which will enable it to remove lint and fuzz from large surfaces on clothing, curtains, upholstery, and even carpets. The handle contains a comfort grip.

It was interesting to try out this fabric shaver because I am used to using smaller fabric shavers with batteries. This larger shaver has allowed me to get fuzz and lint off of clothing faster. I could see that lint had been removed right after I had used it on certain clothing surfaces. There was also lint in the see-through container, from what I can tell can be easily removed when it is full. Although it won't fit in my car console like my smaller Fabric Shaver will, it is good to have at home when I need to remove lint off of clothes and curtains. It might also work on our carpet, although some of our carpet isn't snag resistant and I am not sure if this Fabric Shaver is or not. The fact that it is motor-driven means I will never have to worry about whether there will be a dead battery inside of it.

I am glad to have access to this bigger Fabric Shaver. Now when I notice there is lint on clothing (when I am in the process of folding it) I can get it out to use it, instead of making a trip out to my car to get my smaller one.

I believe anybody can benefit from this Fabric Shaver that needs to get rid of lint on clothes and other fabrics in the home.

Product Review: 100 Count Washable Marker Set by US Art Supply

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

This 100 Count Washable Marker Set from US Art Supply includes 50 different colors (different shades of colors). The markers are great for writing, doodling, coloring, and drawing. The set comes with a plastic carrying case which has a plastic marker organizer inside. I didn't realize it at first but there are 2 sets of 50 markers in the set, which I believe means that there are 2 of each color. There are a lot of different colors of blues, greens, and browns.

I used these markers for coloring in an adult coloring book. I liked that there were different blues and greens because I have noticed different shades of those colors in nature. They are thin markers so they worked well when I was coloring fine lined-drawings. They bled through the paper of the coloring book a little bit, mostly in little dots, which probably happened when the marker tips touched certain places on the paper and bled through. I also used these markers on a drawing I colored that was on thicker paper. I could not see where the markers bled through that paper at all, although I could see some of the colors through the back of the paper. The markers do not look dry to me on the drawings I colored in the adult coloring book but they did look somewhat dry on the drawing I colored on thicker paper, maybe because I used more of the same colors in larger spaces on that drawing. These are some of my coloring projects with these markers:

These markers on thicker paper with more color used
These markers on an adult coloring book

The plastic organizer to keep the markers in place came in handy for me sometimes. Since I was using the markers so much for coloring in an adult coloring book, I decided to take the plastic organizer out and not have them be as organized as they were when I first received them because it takes some time to snap all the markers back in place (in other words, I just put the markers in the case facing upward, without using the plastic organizer). When I am done coloring so much I might decide to organize them with the included organizer again.

The markers washed very easily off my hands so I think that parents and teachers will also be able to remove the ink easily from children's skin and tables.

Product Review: Deluxe French Press Set by Lux Essentials

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Deluxe French Press Set by Lux Essential was fun and easy to use! There was an instruction sheet in the box to tell me how much coffee and water to add to the pitcher before I started the press process. I like how I was able to pour right from the pitcher, since there is an opening to pour it. The coffee grinds stayed at the bottom and didn't get into my coffee at all (or much) from what I can tell. This French Press has helped me to get out of my comfort zone a little more, since I am not much of a coffee drinker but have recently discovered I love coffee flavored with vanilla (which is the kind of coffee I made with it).

The first time I made the coffee I made enough for two glasses and added 2 scoops of coffee per 8 ounces of water, which is what the instructions recommended. It was very, very good, although with drinking it in the early evening (around 4 pm) it kept me up longer than I wanted to be up. The next time I only added half the amount of coffee and added some more water (since the water level needs to be at a certain point to press the coffee) and the coffee tasted very good to me in that case as well, and I feel asleep a lot quicker also.

The Borosciliate Glass from the pitcher, the press, and included scoop washed well in our dishwasher on the top rack. I like that there is an extra stainless steel mesh screen included as well, which can be used as a double screen or as a replacement screen.

Not only will people benefit from making coffee in this Deluxe French Press but it sounds like tea can be made with it as well. When it is not being used for coffee or tea, the pitcher would be great to serve water or other beverages in!

Product Review: Plantar Fasciitis Socks by Alaska Bear

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

These black Plantar Fasciitis Socks by Alaska Bear help alleviate conditions associated with the feet, such as plantar fasciitis, muscle fatigue, heal and arch pain, and swelling. They promote better blood circulation due to the graduated compression that they use. They are comfortable to wear (if you order the right size for your feet) and use anti-bacterial fabric and no-slip cuffs.

I put these socks on under a pair of pantyhose and a pair of socks. I wore thicker socks than I usually do because it looked like they were stretching the toes of my lighter socks too much. These socks did a great job of alleviating foot pain I often have when standing up for many hours at a time during work days. Even though they have felt thicker than some other compression socks I have worn, I barely noticed I was wearing them at times. I didn't notice any foot pain on the days that I wore them to work either. I also didn't feel my feet aching on my drive home from work. Another great thing is that they kept my feet (and ankles) warmer!

These socks were easy to wash. I washed them in the washing machine in a lingerie bag with pantyhose. Even though it is recommended to hang them dry (which will probably prolong the life of them), I dried them with other clothes in the dryer and so far they have kept their shape.

Although these Plantar Fasciitis Socks will probably help a lot of people that constantly have aching feet (to relieve some/all of the pain), it is always good to check with a doctor to make sure these socks are right for you.

Product Review: Pine Essential Oil by Simply Earth

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Pine Essential by Simply Earth is 100% pure and Non-Toxic. It is undiluted and unfiltered and contains no fillers or additives. It comes from the needle and twig part of the Pinus Sylvestris plant and originates from Hungary. It comes in a 15ml amber glass bottle with a euro dropper cap. It can be used to help relax the body and energize the mind. It is said to be great for easing muscle pain, rheumatism, and arthritis as well as for therapeutic uses of Antimicrobial, antineuralgic, antirheumatic, antiseptic, balsamic, deodorant, expectorant, restorative, rubefacient, and stimulant (see http://simplyearth.com/products/pine-scotch-essential-oil).

I used this Pine Essential Oil in my aromatherapy machine. The euro dropper was easy to use, I just turned the bottle upside down and shook the drops out of the bottle into the aromatherapy machine. The drops came out a little bit at a time. Even before I turned on the aromatherapy machine it gave off a woody scent straight from the bottle. The scent reminded me of walking through a forest and woody area in the Fall where there are a lot of pine needles around. My favorite season is the Fall so the scent of this product has given me a good feeling when I have smelled it. It also seemed to relax me.

I believe that anybody that loves the smell of pine needles will like using this essential oil for aromatherapy. I also believe anybody that could benefit from the therapeutic uses of this product will also like using it.

Product Review: 10 Piece Premium Kitchen Ceramic Knives by Elegana

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This is an interesting set of kitchen knives by Elegana. There are four different sized ceramic knives with protective blade covers. Included is a 3" Paring ceramic knife, 4" Fruit ceramic knife, 5" Santoku ceramic knife, 6" Chef ceramic knife and also a multi-purpose ceramic peeler and microfiber cleaning cloth. It comes in a nice gift box also, that can be saved and used to store the knives in when they are not being used.

These knives cut like no other knives I remember using before. They cut very smoothly and deeply into the foods I used them for. I remember one of the knives cutting very deeply through a pizza I sliced with it, it cut really smoothly through the whole pizza. It was also easy to cut an apple with one of these knives. They can be used to also cut meats, breads, etc.

The food washed off quickly under the faucet when I was finished using the knives. I also washed the knives, their covers, and the ceramic peeler in the utensil drawer in my dishwasher. They did well in the dishwasher...nothing melted or anything.

I am all around happy with these knives and I am so grateful they come with covers to keep the blades safe when they are not being used.

Product Review: Amazing Jungle Life Adult Coloring Book by Tali Carmi

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Amazing Jungle Life Adult Coloring Book includes pictures to color of the following jungle animals: Jaguar, Cougar, Tapir, Anaconda , Macaw, Piranha, Jungle Elephant, Chimpanzee, Bullet ant, Tiger Fish, Sumatran Rhinoceros, Orangutan, Gibbon, Cobra, Poison Dart Frog, Mandrill, Sloth, Anteater, Armadillo, Tarantula, Axolotl, Jesus Lizard, Satanic Leaf Tailed Gecko, Proboscis Monkey, Rhinoceros Hornbill, Aye-Aye, Okapi, Mata Mata, Peanut Head Bug, Kinkajou, Cassowary, Caimans, Capybara.

There are a lot of jungle animals in this coloring book that I didn't even know existed. The names of the animals are not listed on the individual pictures, although there is a list of the animal names in the back of the book. I didn't look closely at the list of animals until later. I don't like what one of the names of the animals is called it sounds because it sounds like it was named after a bad spirit, but on the other hand I am glad that there is one animal that sounds like it is named after a good spirit.

My coloring project of the Sloth on page 17 of the Amazing Jungle Life Adult Coloring Book, using thin markers.

The great thing about this coloring book is that thin markers, crayons, colored pencils, and gel pens can be used with the drawings. I colored in it with thin markers. The markers bleed through the drawings, although they didn't bleed through all that much (the next pages have a lot of colored dots and markings and look like they can still be colored...and this coloring book might not be recommended to use thin markers). Colored pencils will definitely work the best with this coloring book I think.

This adult coloring book has provided me with a lot of hours of stress reduction. The pictures are only on the fronts of the pages so there are no back sided pictures, which are often hard to fully color. In my opinion, there is a lot of detail to the pictures. You can probably find pictures of the jungle animals ahead of time to determine the colors they should be colored, or you can decide for yourself what color you think they should be colored.

Product Review: Ultra Slim Travel Alarm Clock by Accuon

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Ultra Slim Travel Alarm Clock not only displays the time after it is set but it also has a calendar feature. It is easy to use...just slide the button on the lower left hand side of the clock to the feature you want (alarm, time, calendar) and use the hour (month), and minute (date) buttons to set the correct time and date. It also gives the temperature.

The alarm feature on this alarm clock worked great for me. The alarm goes off with a slower pace at first and then a faster pace. It is definitely loud enough to wake me up. There is a snooze feature that I wasn't able to get to work, although it could have been an operator error. I move up the button for the snooze feature and a Zz icon appears in the upper left hand screen but the alarm clock never went off again after I moved that button up. I do not use the snooze button normally so that is not a big deal for me.

I like how this alarm clock flips open and closed. When it is open there is what looks like a little tray, it can hold some smaller sized post-it notes or even paper clips. The alarm clock also swivels around to the other side, it can be used whichever way: with the tray facing it or behind it.

This is an alarm clock I hope to travel with in the future because I feel confident that it will go off (as long as there is a battery in it). I wouldn't have to test a hotel's alarm clock when having this on trips either because I already know how this alarm clock works.

Product Review: Armband for Select iPhone Models by i2 Gear

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This armband is supposed to be compatible with the iPhone 4/5/6 and Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, S5, S6, Moto X, HTC One Phones with a case. I was going to try it with my family member's iPhone 5 but was surprised to see it fits and works well with my iPhone 6S Plus. It looks like a perfect fit to me.

I have used it as a regular case and have wrapped it around my hand when I was checking email and doing some other things on the iPhone. It is easy to navigate the iPhone through the case's screen. It has a zipper to close the case. It fits inside my purse and seems to protect my iPhone really well.

I know this case is designed to use during a workout but I think it works great to put on a wrist during other times and on the palm of a hand like in the way I used it to check my email on the go. My wrist is too small for the wrist wrap to stay around my wrist with the Velcro attached when riding on my exercise bike so I'm glad I like using it as a regular case. There is even a place to put the earplugs on the outside of the case and a pouch on the inside to store a small item.

I love this case!

Product Review: iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus Case by ClaxTech

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This is a soft silicone, rubber gel, see through case for the Apple iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus (5.5 inch). It fits directly on the back of these iPhones and has holes for the on/off button, volume, phone charger, etc.

I wasn't used to a see through case like this for an iPhone so at first glance I thought it was a screen protector. When I noticed the holes in the case didn't match up with the iPhone's function buttons (when I thought it was supposed to snap on the front of the phone) I was shown that it fit on the back of the phone and the holes in the case matched up to the iPhone's buttons. It was easy to snap on at that point.

I'm very happy with this case! It has worked really well with my iPhone 6s Plus so far. The case feels very nice to me and I feel like my iPhone has been more protected because of it. I also like that I can still see the back of my phone is pink with this see through case on it.

Product Review: Del Mar Easel by US Art Supply

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Del Mar Easel by US Art Supply is an A-frame easel that stands 67" tall. It comes with an adjustable canvas holder that will hold canvases up to 46 inches by any manageable length. The top part of the easel is adjustable also, which can help hold up posters and paper from giant paper pads.

This easel has been interesting to set up and use. I learned that the black plastic tags on the canvas tray and on the top piece of the easel slide into the groove of the easel. This is what allows the canvas holder to adjust when it is put in the desired place and the nobs are tightened.

It has a different look for an easel to me. It looks more pointy to me and takes up more space than other easels I have seen, but this might be a new modern look I am not yet familiar with. I like that the canvas holder has a tray, which will hold paints, brushes, pens, etc.

I am currently using this easel to hold up a concert poster that has been in my closest for over a year because I couldn't get it to stay up with tape on my door. It is great that I now have a way to look at the whole concert poster because I have great memories from that concert and it helps me to remember them when I look at it.

Product Review: Bamboo Fiber Bread Box Bin with Cutting Board Lid by Clean Dezign

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Bamboo Fiber Bread Box Bin with Cutting Board Lid is an interesting addition to a modern kitchen. The bread box is made of bamboo fiber and is natural white (looks like cream to me). The lid to the bread box is bamboo and can also be used as a cutting board with crumb catchers. It measures 15 3/4 x 9 x 5" with the lid on. It can hold bread, bagels, buns and/or pastry and other bread items. It can easily fit one to two or more packages of bread in it (depending on the size).

First off please be careful with this bread box when you are taking it out of the packing box and package. It accidentally slipped from my hands, although I didn't notice it at first there was a small crack in the breadbox and lid. So that is why I say be careful...HANDLE WITH CARE! It is a nice bread box!

Even though this is considered a modern bread box it reminds me of something that could've been used in earlier times also. It easily stored 2 packages of regular sized bread items in it and probably could've stored more. The lid fits on it really nice. It came in handy to use when I cut an apple. I used a paper towel on top of the lid when I cut the apple because I didn't want to wash it just yet but plan to after a couple of uses.

Another way I might use it in the future is to store my essential oils in; I think it will keep them altogether better. There are probably many, many more uses for it as well.

Product Review: Bergamot Essential Oil by Simply Earth

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Bergamot Essential Oil by Simply Earth is unfiltered and undiluted, it is also non-toxic and contains no fillers. It has a citrus aroma but it is also sweet and fruity smelling, with spicy, warm, floral quality. It originates from Italy. The botanical name of this essential oil is Citrus bergamia and comes from the fruit peel part of the plant. It comes with an Euro dropper with cap included.

This Bergamot Essential Oil had an interesting fruity smell to me. When I walk into the room when the aromatherapy machine has been going I really like the aroma. I couldn't really tell it came from a plant, although if I had ever been around the plant it came from I might've been able to recognize the scent. Since it comes from the fruit peel part of the plant that might be why it smells more fruity to me. At first the scent is stronger to me, right after I put it in my aromatherapy machine. After my aromatherapy machine has been on for awhile then the scent seems to smell less strong to me, which I like.

I believe that people that like fruity-smelling essential oils will like this.

Product Review: Washable Markers Bucket Set by US Art Supply

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

This handy Washable Markers Bucket Set by US Art Supply comes with 4 sets of 12 markers (a total of 48 markers...there are 4 of each color to go around to students). These markers are also washable and non-toxic. The bucket contains the colors of orange, pink, red, brown, black, green, blue, yellow, and purple. Some markers contain more than one shade of certain colors (for instance there is a light blue and a dark blue in the set).

A picture I colored with this Washable Markers Bucket Set by US Art Supply

When I used these markers I found after the first time I set aside the colors I used that most of them were not dry the next time I used them. Most of the colors seemed to glide on very wet and smooth. A few of the markers seemed dry in the areas I colored the pictures on when I pulled them out after the first time.

Some of areas I colored in looked like they could have been wet after I colored at times but they generally left a minimal amount of ink on my hands when I accidentally rubbed parts of the wet picture when coloring in other areas. I put the pictures aside that I colored to a place where they could dry overnight. The caps didn't really click when I put them back on but they seemed to smoothly screw back into place and tightly fit back on the markers. I love that there is more than one color of blue and green markers in the bucket!

Since having this handy bucket, I started to think some of my other markers and art supplies I use might be more handy in a bucket like this too. I love how the bucket makes it easily storable and usable when the markers are ready to be used. I like how they are washable too, which means they are probably easy to clean off of plastic tables.

Product Review: Basil Essential Oil by Simply Earth

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.
This Basil Essential Oil by Simply Earth has a sweet and spicy aroma. It originates from India. It is great for use (when diffused) for migraines and mental alertness. The therapeutic properties it is supposed to have are: Antidepressant, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal digestive, nervine, restorative, stomachic, and tonic.

My first thought was that the scent smelled like an aroma found in the kitchen, a spicy scent that reminded me of something cooked with vegetables. The aroma was kind of strong to me at first and then I got used to it and didn't notice it that much. The next time I turned on my aromatheraphy machine (when there was still water in it and I didn't run it long enough to use all of the water and oil) after I used it with this essential oil, I could barely smell the basil. So, this might be an essential oil I need to add more of when I turn on the aromatherapy machine the next time if all the water hasn't been used.

I might use this essential oil in the kitchen in the future, since the aroma is one that I imagine would be found there.

Product Review: Onion Chopper by Kuuk

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This Onion Chopper by Kuuk really came in handy to chop some onions when I wanted to add some to my vegetables. It was easy to use, all I did was put the onion in the bottom container and screwed the part with the blade on it and started chopping away. When I pressed down on the top of the device it cut up the onion in different places. What I noticed is that is would only really cut main onion part and not the outer level of the onion that looked like it was part of the main part of the onion to me at first. Most of the time it cut it up into just the right sized pieces for me, other times I noticed the pieces were longer and wider. If I would've hit the chopper a few more times those pieces might have been that size too.

I was able to rinse all/most of the onion pieces off of the chopper and the bottom container before it was cleaned. It was easy to clean in the dishwasher. I laid the main part of the chopper (with the blade) on its side on the top rack of the dishwasher and I laid the other part face down.

The compact design allows the onion chopper to be stored easily. It is a great small appliance/cooking device to have around. It didn't take a long time for me to figure out how to use it so I will probably pull it out every now and then when I want to chop up onions to add to food.

Product Review: Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons by X-Chef

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This set of Stainless Steel Measuring Spoon comes with a set of six measuring spoons in the sizes of 1tbsp--20ml, 1/2tbsp--10ml, 1tsp-5ml, 1/2tsp--2.5ml,1/4tsp--1.25ml, 1/8tsp--0.6ml, each spoon lists each measurement. A small metal ring holds them together so that the can stay in the same place, even while they are being washed in the dishwasher!

I used this measuring spoon set while making potato pancakes (latkes). I was able to spoon out about the right portion of each potato pancake batter onto the skillet from using them. In the past I remember using a regular spoonful of batter, not knowing if it was the right amount of batter to use. Using this product gave the batter a more equal amount of distance between each potato pancake in my opinion. I like that it has a ring to keep the measuring spoons all together so they will not get lost in different drawers, or in different parts of one drawer.

These measuring spoons did well washing in my dishwasher; I haven't noticed any rust since washing them. They pretty much take up one of the silverware sections in the dishwasher, which is okay with me since there are six spoons they are like pieces of silverware to me.

Product Review: Enchanted Forest Adult Coloring Book by Johanna Brasford

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

Enchanted Forest: An Inky Quest and Coloring Book is an interesting adult coloring book to color in. It has provided me a lot of relaxation when I have colored in it for hours using gel ink pens with the TV playing in the background. It has definitely helped me let go of stress. There are interesting games in this book, such as mazes, hidden objects, etc. The illustrations were inspired by the rural hometown of the creator of this book, Johanna Brasford. What I found interesting is there is a set of stickers that shipped with this book to use with the illustrations.

One of the pages in the Enchanted Forest Coloring Book I colored with gel ink pens

There are a lot of different kind of illustrations in this coloring book, from flowers, to animals, to feathers. The illustrations in this book are both on the front and the back of the pages. I found it easier to color on the front pages rather than the back pages. The front and back cover of the book can even be colored!

I recommend this book to adults that like to color.

Product Review: One Luggage Small Organizer by Dot&Dot

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

This One Luggage Small Organizer by Dot&Dot is great to use for some basic traveling essentials, such as a small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, deodorant, mouthwash, toothpaste, a toothbrush, hairspray, floss, razor, etc. Part of the top of the case has a see through mesh panel (screen-like opening with holes), to allow you to see some (or all) of the items you need before you open it up. It contains soft fabric material through most of the case, is zippered and small enough to fit inside of a suitcase or a duffel bag.

This organizer is definitely a good way to help me keep my traveling supplies to a minimum, since I usually travel with big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, mouthwash, etc. I recently obtained some small bottles to put some of these essential products in; I can now travel lighter when I put those bottles in this organizer.

I think this will also work well as a small lunch box, as long as there are food and drink items put in it that do not need to stay cold or hot, since there is a see through mesh panel at the top of the case.

I really love this small organizer and the light purple color of it!
